The "Obtainable Bucket List."

Although many of us are greatly inspired by the many blogs, news reports, face book postings of strangers and magazine articles of people creating a "Bucket List" and making their check marks, myself included.
But for myself and the many other people I know, Going to Italy for a Year, Climbing Mount Everest or walking every step of the China Wall is quite frankly "unobtainable." I mean yes, if they were to go alone is could be quite possible, but lugging the whole family, getting passports, buying the ung-dly costly plane tickets, Sitting for 10 + Hrs with a 2 year old, is not only impractical but insane!

So you go on with your daily lives, continue to be inspired by others, but always having that gnawing little voice in the back of your mind saying "I wish I could do that, or I would love to do that."

So then what follows? For myself a little depression or frustration sets in sometimes. I have the desire to do those things, I am not afraid, I'm open if the occasion arises, but reality also has it's voice.

With a gifted Teenager that has a ton of academic and musical demands, a preteen just trying to figure things out in life and and a 2 year old trying to not be a 2 year old, Did I mention they are all girls, A husband working out in the Oil Fields and its high demands (even more then his own wife has, Oy poor guy)and 3 annoyingly loving pooches, when and how can you pack a backpack and tour Europe?

So what about the "obtainable bucket list", the REAL things that you could do to bring just a little joy, a little fun, a little rest a little peace a little more togetherness into your life?

I think I am going to work on making "That List". Some things just only for myself, some things just with only my husband, some things with only my girls and some things with the whole family.

Maybe by making this list and making my own check marks, posting a few of my own "I Did this", maybe I could be a little voice to the next person who may not be able to "excavate for lost riches of Egypt", but can stay at a secluded Cabin for the night, with a Glass of wine, and sit in an outside Jacuzzi over looking the woods in the buff.

Now That I can do :-)

Oklahoma's Individualism, Independence Vs Conformity.

I have to say that Oklahoma has been quite good @ staying for the most part quite Independent from other states, that doesn't mean that has all been good or that it has all been bad.

Some subjects and laws could be updated, but whose state couldn't use a little rearranging here and there? It's called growth, but it also could become that age old and very tricky, slippery fall into Conformity.

What causes me to Blog about this today?
It was a post I read the other day brought to us by our very own www.kfor.com news station. The topic: Tulsa The Pack A Day City.
It wasn't so much the actual post that caused me to cringe, it was the comments and replies to the post that concerned me. The cries of "This state did it, we should do it, get with the program" etc..etc... It got me to thinking, What program? Who's Program? The everybody else is doing it program? "Ooooh that one", I thought to myself.

How easy it is for people to just want to be a part of the "everybody else is doing it program", that they publicly cry it often, loud and with such ease. With such willingness to wrap a noose around the neck of our Individual rights until we conform and bend to their satisfaction or snuff it out completely!

These are the very same people that vote every election, the same people that I'm supposed to feel secure among my fellow citizens to help rebuild a better Government for my young children, to help fight against terrorism, socialism, anti-antisemitism,anti-prejudice racial discrimination's and preserve our Constitutional Rights "Our True Rights, not the ones Obama chooses to change at whim."

* And to be very clear, my beliefs on Religion and State are quite separate. But being a Jew, I get the pleasure of being able to look at things in a different perspective because we are not burdened by the Christian tones.

Our gun laws are more relaxed then in most states, at the same time that gun violence is so rampant in so many other states that is has so many voting, picketing, rallying, holding press conferences and pleading to the public to take guns out of every Gun Owners hand.

The last time I checked, it wasn't our Oklahoma children shooting up movie theaters, schools, malls or businesses. It wasn't our Men and Women of Oklahoma entering a camp to commit mass murder and it wasn't Oklahoman's placing bombs in our downtown communities.

I am glad we remain Independent on some things. And yet I hope we continue to grow in others.

But before you post about declaring your want to remove the rights away from others, remember when we are no longer Independent it means we become Co-dependent, Voiceless and Governed. Inevitably leaving us to be easily enslaved.

Why I Started The Daily Kvetching In The First Place.

Answer: Facebook.

I realized that lately I have spent a lot of time putting out my own opinion on many different topics, beyond the like this button, and a friendly comment here and there.

And yes, I have read the article before I post an opinion.
There is nothing more frustrating then scrolling down the comments to realize that over half never read the article, but only commenting on the other comments.

I try not to call out others or personally attack, but there are a few that although not cursing, I do help them to see their idiocy  or @ least point out their idiocy to others.
Those were mostly left for the "growing anti-Semitic youth" trolling Jewish sites online and taking photos and posting them from Concentration camps throwing out their "Heil Hitler's". or other very disrespectful and disgracing manners.
Some of them ironically (due to their physical features) if  they were in Europe during that time, would have been shot, gassed or worked to death themselves.
Just to mention one of the many topics I commented on.

With all of the growing World Wide concerns, that inevitably will or does concern us as an American Nation, I wanted a place for others to discuss those concerns, And Oy how us Jews love to discuss :)

A place to discuss our own State's concerns and the concerns of the people who live within it.

And yes discuss our own although a not always forthcoming and transparent Government.

Has it ever been this corrupt, this secretive and to be honest so out of the peoples control as it is right now?

Are we a helpless citizen with no voice, Has our Government made us a helpless citizen?

Just another topic on why I started this Blog.

Maybe we can become a Community with a Voice, with Ideas, with Like minded thinking, or Not so like minded, but agree to disagree.
This Blog is for my fellow Jews and my fellow non-Jews alike.
Maybe we just need a place to KVETCH TOGETHER.
